Nanowrimo Calendar 2010 b by celaenotheharpy Nanowrimo Calendar 2010 b by celaenotheharpy
The book titles on each day correspond with the word count. Example, Animal Farm is on the 18th because it is approximately 30,006 words, which is the writing goal for that day. Seemed like a good way to keep track of your word counts in a tangible way. I made the original of this last year, here's the updated for 2010 version.

I absolutely love the idea of this; it's so nice to have an idea of where I am in relation to published books (and so many, in particular, that I have read and enjoyed). <3 Lovely work!

I adore this idea. I'm going to use this. What better way to be motivated than to see the greats that you are surpassing (quantity-wise, obviously probably not quality, but still!)?

I like it :)
It's actually quite encouraging in a way to see all the novels then YOUR NOVEL. At first I thought it was slightly odd since I've been seeing quotes and whatnot, then just novel titles. Great work

Thank you! I really wanted to make it because word count didn't mean a lot to me on its own. It's just a number. I needed a more tangible yardstick. It was particularly exhilarating when I realized that Of Mice and Men is only 25,000 words long. Exhilarating and scary.

you're welcome :)

for me; I need the word count. Otherwise I'd quit by day 3... so, it's helpful, but I completely understand what you mean.

I can't believe it's that short, I'm not ambitious enough to count, but I could've sworn it was longer when I read it in high school :O

or, maybe that was having the read outloud sessions of people stumbling and stuttering, muttering and talking so low it sounds like their whispering something random.

Now that I think about it; I always hated teachers that thought it was more 'useful' to us to read out loud...

sorry; I'm rambling, but I'm really thinking now about how that made me hate books for a while.

ANYHOW, great job, and interesting bits. Thank you for sharing with us
